Mostra “JOAN MIRO’ A MONTECATINI TERME” – Mo.C.A. 4 DICEMBRE 2024 / 29 GIUGNO 2025
Dal 4 dicembre 2024 al 29 giugno 2025 il Mo.C.A. – Montecatini Terme Contemporary Art ospiterà la mostra dal titolo “JOAN MIRO’ A MONTECATINI TERME”.
La Galleria Civica, inaugurata il 4 dicembre del 2012, accoglie in esposizione permanente Dona Voltada d’un Vol d’Ocells, una delle 5 opere più grandi al mondo realizzate da Mirò.
La rassegna desidera raccontare l’affascinante storia di come nel 1980 l’artista spagnolo l’abbia dipinta appositamente per la città termale.
Parleremo dunque del Maggio Mirò, il più grande evento culturale mai svoltosi a Montecatini, e di Carlos Franqui che lo ideò. E dei tantissimi artisti che accolsero il suo invito a parteciparvi per creare opere ispirate alla figura e ai lavori del più grande dei surrealisti al fine di rendergli omaggio. E del motivo per cui Mirò, attesissimo ospite d’onore, non arrivò mai in città.
Una storia che ripercorreremo attraverso i ritratti dei suoi protagonisti e della grande festa che Montecatini tutta visse in quella primavera del 1980.
Lo faremo attraverso l’esposizione delle opere dei pittori provenienti dal tutto il mondo che aderirono all’iniziativa, le quali saranno accompagnate da litografie di Mirò, documenti autografi del Maestro, fotografie, manifesti e altro materiale inedito prestato da privati che ebbero la fortuna di assistere all’evento o da loro eredi.
La mostra che si protrarrà nel 2025, fornirà l’occasione di festeggiare i 45 anni della presenza della Donna di Mirò a Montecatini.
E di ringraziare, nuovamente, l’artista per il suo genio e per la sua generosità.
