Montecatini Terme railway stations

Monsummano Terme railway station, chairs in the waiting roomThe current station called ‘Montecatini Centro‘ was originally called ‘Leopoldina‘ and was the only one in the city. As early as the early 20th century, however, it was not considered sufficient for the number of visitors to the city, particularly during the summer season.

Consequently, an additional railway station was constructed in 1937 by architect Angiolo Mazzoni; the structure is imposing and harmonious, and was built from stones from the nearby village of Monsummano Terme.
