All’interno si trovano pannelli in vetro policromatico che illuminano dall’alto le scale di ingresso, ad opera di Galileo Chini, autore anche dei dodici dipinti sulle arcate del soffitto rappresentanti le allegorie del buon governo (Lavorare, Costruire, Sapere, Prosperare nella Pace).
Al piano terra dell’edificio comunale si trova l’opera “Donna avvolta in un volo d’uccello” donata dall’artista Joan Mirò alla città nel 1980, e attualmente situata nella galleria civica MO.C.A. (Montecatini Contemporary Art), dove un tempo vi erano i servizi postali del Comune. Ancora oggi la struttura che ospita la galleria civica ha le vetrate policromatiche originali di Galileo Chini, improntate sul tema della comunicazione, e vi si tengono esposizioni artistiche temporanee.
