Tornano anche quest’anno le “Giornate FAI di Primavera” che avranno luogo il 22 e il 23 marzo 2025 dalle ore 9.30 alle ore 17.30 presso la Chiesa di Santa Maria a Ripa di Montecatini Alto e il Salone delle feste del Kursaal.
L’evento realizzato dal Gruppo FAI Valdinievole, con il patrocinio del Comune, rappresenta un’opportunità di condivisione e scoperta del patrimonio culturale e paesaggistico nascosti, offrendo ai turisti una nuova chiave di lettura con percorsi insoliti e capaci di suscitare curiosità e meraviglia nel visitatore.
L’edizione locale 2025 dell’evento per cui si richiede il patrocinio è dedicata a due importanti edifici simbolo della nostra città termale:
– Chiesa di Santa Maria a Ripa di Montecatini Alto, meglio conosciuto come “Monastero delle Benedettine”, la cui nascita è da collocarsi nel 1533, anno in cui un gruppo di pie giovani del castello di Montecatini decise di appartarsi dal mondo per abbracciare la Regola degli Eremitani di S . Agostino: fu così assegnata loro la Chiesa di S. Maria a Ripa con annesse alcune case, affinché potessero abitarvi e condurvi vita comune;
– Salone delle Feste del Kursaal, gioiello liberty all’interno dell’omonimo complesso restaurato, che per un breve periodo ha ospitato l’unica casa da gioco della città. Il casinò è stato chiuso nel 1947 e successivamente, fino almeno alla fine degli anni Settanta, il salone è stato riservato a feste, eventi, veglioni in maschera, dopodiché chiuso definitivamente. Recentemente è interessato da un progetto di recupero conservativo che lo trasformerà in un’area polifunzionale destinata a eventi, convegni e iniziative legate al mondo dell’architettura e del design.
